  Isomaltooligosaccharides  consist of up to eight glucose monomers formed by α-(1 → 6) glucosidic linkages, such as isomaltose, isomaltotriose, and panose, which are common short-chain carbohydrates identified in  Isomaltooligosaccharides  IMOS mixtures . Natural sources of IMOSs include honey and fermentable foods, such as miso, soy sauce, sake , and beer. 


   However, Isomaltooligosaccharides IMO powder /syrup are most known for their utilization by the food industry, as they can be added to food or replace dietary carbohydrates, improving the quality of commercial products. Also, Isomaltooligosaccharides  IMOSs may increase the healthy potential of foods, as scientific data suggest their prebiotic potential. Currently, IMOSs are Generally Recognized as Safe by the US Food and Drug Administration and commercial products from Canada, China, Japan, and the United States are reaching the market with the allegation of sweetener and prebiotic.
